The convent, at 667 meters above sea-level, is surrounded by the greenery of the Mount of the Wood, halfway on the eastern side of Mount Ciabergia (1.178 m), whose woods frame its two large circles of walls: the old ones, in full bricks, enclosing the convent buildings, and those surrounding the rural and cultivated area, rich in plant varieties that mix ancient fruit cultivars with wild local vegetation.
This mountain, rich in waters, is marked by its wide environmental diversity (birches, alders, chestnuts, beeches) modelled by the two last glaciations, and represents an ecological link between the inter-drumlin area of Avigliana, with its beautiful lakes and swamps, and the Orsiera-Rocciavré range, both protected.
